Nicholas Lum's love for music and ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) began at a young age. Growing up in a musical family, Lum discovered his passion for music and nurtured his talent at the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, where he participated in various musical and cultural activities.
Continuing his education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Lum pursued concurrent Bachelor of Arts degrees in Hawaiian Language and Music, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Hawaiian Language. Currently, Lum is a doctoral student at Ka Haka ʻUla o Keʻelikōlani at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Lum is a skilled ʻōlapa (dancer) and hoʻopaʻa (drummer) of Hālau nā Kamalei o Līlīlehua. His deep connection to Hawaiian culture and his extensive musical background contribute to the authenticity and passion evident in his music.
